Welcome to the Loudoun County Aeromodelers Association (LCAA), AMA #799. Our goal is to promote model aircraft building and flying for the purpose of education, pleasure and recreation. The public is invited to club meetings held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm at the North County Governmental Center in Reston, Virginia. Meeting activities include show 'n tell of members' aircraft and discussions on club events, activities, and business. Gather with us on Facebook and YouTube.
We invite you to join us at our flying field at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in Loudoun County. Non-club members are encouraged to try their hand at flying as a guest of a club member with assistance from a qualified pilot. As a member of the club, flight instructors are available to assist new pilots through the pilot training program. All club members must be members of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). You must be a guest of a LCAA member or a LCAA member yourself to fly at the field. Only club qualified pilots may fly at the field by themselves.
Field hours: The LCAA flying field is open 7 days a week from 9 am to one half hour before sunset. Occasionally, the field is closed all day or for a limited amount of hours for special occasions and members are given prior notice.

Renew your FAA Registration
As we enter the 2024 flying season, everyone should double check their FAA registration. A lot of folks who signed up when this first became a thing will have had their's expire in December. Pay your $5, renew your registration and enjoy flying FAA certified until 2027. Remeber, you should have a copy of your current FAA UAS Certificate of Registration available whenever you are flying at the field.

2024 July Picnic
With rain scheduled for Saturday, the July picnic was pushed to Sunday, July 7th. The theme for this picnic was UMX/IMAC. We had lots of UMX but no IMAC flying. It was another scorcher but we still had a good turnout including a few spectators. Everyone enjoyed a lunch of ribs done on the grill.
